This scarce remedy from THE H. K. MULFORD COMPANY of PHILADELPHIA was an early SEX TONIC. As you can see, APHRODISIAC is noted on the large label. Also note the price in period druggist's pencil on the label: 20 cents per ounce. Quite racey for c1880, don't you think? FLUID EXTRACT OF DAMIANA was also used as a tonic and diuretic. This very rare, cased brass spring-loaded bleeder is heavily engraved. This most likely was given as a gift, or presentation piece. It is engraved D. SCHEIRMAN. The inside of the lid has the name DANIEL written in pencil. The box appears to be constructed of cherry wood with a poplar bottom. The bleeder is 4" in length.
