This is a very early remedy! Check out the PROPRIETARY TAX STAMP! It is unopened, and is 3.25"x2.25"x1". It is wax sealed on both ends. This wonderful patent medicine was made by HENRY, JOHNSON AND LORD of BURLINGTON, VERMONT. The back reads: JOHN GIBSON, LITHOGRAPHER 32 BEEKMAN ST. NEW YORK. Mr. Gibson was a well known lithographer who founded his business in 1870. This remedy was acquired from an Indianapolis, Indiana surgeon's collection.

It is embossed on all four sides, three of which are covered by the label. It reads: SHILOH'S // CATARRH // REMEDY // S.C.WELL'S & CO. LEROY, N.Y. The enclosed flier is quite fascinating to read. Quite a scarce find in boxed, unused condition. This is unsold stock from a long-closed Ohio drug store.
