Eugene Ball's Electro-Galvanic Generator Cure Belt~1890
This very early ELECTRO-GALVANIC GENERATOR was made by EUGENE W. BALL and SONS of SOUTH BERWICK, MAINE. It is in original, unused condition. There is a paper label still affixed to the belt. This outstanding belt is 35" long. It contains two "batteries." These discs are 2" in diameter and are each constructed of two different types of metal. When water and vinegar were added, a current was produced across these plates. At this time in history, there was a great fascination with electricity. It was touted as a cure for many diseases. Eugene Ball claimed to be able to cure IMPURE BLOOD, POOR CIRCULATION, RHEUMATISM, SCIATICA, NEURITIS, LUMBAGO, ARTHRITIS, CATARRH, ASTHMA, PIMPLES, CONSTIPATION, NEURALGIA, ACHES AND PAINS, NERVOUSNESS, FEMALE COMPLAINTS, HEART, LIVER, KIDNEY TROUBLES, AND MANY OTHER DISEASES! Please be sure to see our other catalog listings if you enjoy old drug store and medical Americana. New items are added weekly. Thank you for visiting with us.
