| This is, perhaps, the only complete example of this quack device extant. This very early, boxed quack device is in original condition. It is dated 1867 and 1873. The paper-covered wood box contains a bottle of CUTLER'S CARBOLATE OF IODINE. This superb bottle still retains its cork and paper label. It is embossed W.H.SMITH & CO., and is 3" long. The contents have evaporated. The hard rubber inhaler is 4" long. It still has its filters/wicks in place. It is embossed CUTLER'S POCKET INHALER PAT'D MAY 14, 1867/JUNE 17, 1873. The wood box has two holes, one for the inhaler and the other for the bottle. Both fit perfectly. The box is 5" long. THE W. H. SMITH COMPANY was located in BUFFALO, NEW YORK.
