| This wonderful old syringe comes to us from the basement of CASE'S DRUG STORE in JEFFERSON, OHIO. It is unsold stock. This is an EXCELSIOR MALE URETHRAL SYRINGE for SELF-INJECTION made by THE P.J.MCELROY COMPANY of EAST CAMBRIDGE, MASS. As you can see on the original label, it was patented in 1872. The syringe is 5.25" long, and is fully functional. It was used to self administer patent medicine tonics DIRECTLY UP THE URETHRA!
